The Marketing Smith was founded by Laura Dryhurst in 2019, a CIM accredited marketer with over 12 years of marketing expertise. Laura has a diverse range of experience across the private, public sector and not-for-profit sector at both in-house and agency level.
Beginning her career in market research, she developed insight for a not-for-profit and global FMCG giant Unilever. Her next stop was the Higher Education sector at one of the fastest growing UK universities, Coventry University where she directed marketing strategies and campaigns for commercial entities to support regional business growth alongside managing multi-million-pound marketing and advertising campaigns to drive student recruitment.
Turning to a specialist advertising agency as Account Director, Laura has provided consultative strategic services to international brands including the University of York, Warwick Business School and the New York Institute of Photography, helping them to reach a wide global audience.
Laura also has experience in training, providing online and face to face training for the Financial Services sector and in the recruitment sector coaching candidates for assessment centres.
Working with The Marketing Smith I felt very comfortable to share my lack of marketing knowledge and strategy when it came to getting my business out there. We had ongoing monthly coaching sessions which helped keep me monitor my figures, analyse my marketing activity in a proactive way, and taught me new skills and insights that I am still building on today.
